Defining Moment

Just a short, yet meaningful post today.

On Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at approximately 11:40 am I experienced a defining moment outside of an elementary school while sitting in my minivan.

For those of you not familiar with
Dr. Phil's theory of 10 defining moments, take a minute to peruse the following:

Ten Defining Moments: In every person's life, there have been moments, both positive and negative, that have defined and redefined who you are. Those events entered your consciousness with such power that they changed the very core of who and what you thought you were. A part of you was changed by those events, and caused you to define yourself, to some degree by your experience of that event.  (courtesy of DrPhil.com)

Today the moment that defined who I am happened while I was sitting in between the middle seats of my minivan, Mc Donald's cup in hand, hair being pulled by a baby, begging an almost 3 year old boy with his Elmo undies around his ankles to please, please, please pee in the cup.

Very few moments in life will show your life's purpose so clearly that even the slightest doubt is impossible.

Requesting, no, rather, begging your child to have a bodily function in an odd place is one of those moments.

This moment made me realize that I am now and always will be a Mommy.
