1. I wish I could stay home all day and do nothing!
Admittedly there is a lot of repetition here, but you get the point. I am sooo tired of people assuming that stay at home moms don’t work. I work my butt off every day, all day. I do not get a start time and an end time. I do not get weekends. I do not get vacations. I do not get paid. And, I LIVE AT MY JOB AND WITH MY BOSSE(s)!
Now, I get it, work does suck. I love staying home with my kids (for the most part), I love that my husband is good at the whole work thing, but please, haters out there, GIVE ME SOME CREDIT!
My days start at around
During these hours I am the personal booty attendant to four little creatures who’s ability to produce bodily waste is world record worthy.
I cook three meals and countless snacks.
I do millions of loads of laundry and dishes each day.
I transport 4 small humans with me everywhere I go (a task that requires 4 carseats, 4 jackets, 8 shoes and a bunch of screaming, yelling and crying).
I keep two dogs from eating every toy in sight.
And, I maintain an every so cheery disposition while doing it—an exhausting task in itself.
I have about an hour or so after bedtime where I catch up on my internet activities and harass my husband to talk to me. Then, its bed time for me so I can wake up and do it all again in the morning…or until someone wakes me up in regular 2 hour intervals during the night.
.
So, in short, staying home with your kids is a challenge too. Just because I don’t make any money doing it doesn’t mean I don’t contribute. By staying home I am saving around $3000 in month in childcare (an amount that I wouldn’t be able to recoup through work) and my family’s sanity.
And that shall end my defensive rant, thank you for listening.
