Twins ARE Harder to Handle than Singletons
So, we haven't actually had the twins yet. Or, Betsey (the breeder) hasn't. She just passed the 35 week point, which is a key point to reach for the babies' development.
When we were at 33 1/2 weeks and contractions started, our doctor stopped the labor. The first shot he tried, terbutaline, didn't work. It just made mom's heart race (mine too). But the nifedipine stopped the labor. See how it works:
How Nifedipine Stops Labor
We spent a few nights in the hospital and then came home to "bed rest" orders. Since we never had any such drama with our singletons, I conclude that twins are harder. We can't even get them out!
Or, I guess, we don't quite want to... Anyway, here's hoping that they are fully cooked and ready to breathe air! And if they aren't too much harder, I'll keep blogging. For the 14 fans out there. And the 17 bored stiff web surfers who, like a car crash, can't look away.
